Bayview Halo

Bayview is one of the most exciting urban wildlife areas on the North Shore.  Beautiful forests overflowing with wildlife abound in this scenic suburb.  The number of reserves alone exemplifies how special it is: within the Halo can be found Glendhu Scenic reserve, Bonito reserve, Spinella reserve, Lynn reserve, Leigh reserve, Mānuka reserve and more!

A passionate group of volunteers make sure these forests are well cared for and work to keep the area pest free. If you live in Bayview and would like to connect with people in the Halo, join discussions, find out about events and how you can get involved, visit our Bayview Restoration Project Facebook page.

Bayview Halo Trap.NZ data

Many people within the Bayview Halo are active in pest animal control, with the aim of protecting our native birds and other species. This map shows areas in a hexagonal grid where there are active traps and where trapping data was recorded in the last 365 days in the Bayview Halo.

If you would like your data also displayed as part of this map, get in touch or join the Trap.NZ project here.
