Interested in standing for the governing board of Pest Free Kaipātiki?
Call for nominations for election to the Committee of Pest Free Kaipātiki Restoration Society are now open!
The Committee is the governing body of PFK and carries ultimate responsibility for its activities; serving as a Committee Member or Officer is an important role.
We are currently looking for a new Board member to join our collaborative governance team and help guide PFK’s strategy and long-term impact. For this appointment, we are particularly looking to strengthen the Board’s environmental expertise. This is an opportunity to contribute your skills to an established community organisation delivering practical ecological restoration in Kaipātiki. Read more about what is involved here.
Committee Members will be elected at the PFK AGM on Thursday 29 October 2026 (refer below for AGM information).

Annual General Meeting of Pest Free Kaipātiki Restoration Society (Inc.)
We are drawing closer to that time of year again, when we hold our PFK Annual General Meeting. So mark it in your calendar now - 7pm on Thursday 29 October - all members and supporters of PFK are welcome and we are looking forward to celebrating what we have achieved together over this past year!
The details of this event are as follows:
Date: Thursday 29 October 2026
Time: 7pm
Venue: Puāwai, 3 Ross Avenue, Glenfield, Auckland
Format: The formal proceedings will be followed by guest speaker, Bec Stanley. Bec is the manager of Auckland Botanic Gardens and a Kaipātiki resident. Join us for her talk - More Than a Garden: Auckland Botanic Gardens and Threatened Plant Conservation. Read more about Bec and her topic below.

Meet our guest speaker - Bec Stanley
Bec is the manager of Auckland Botanic Gardens and a Kaipātiki resident. She began her career as a threatened plant botanist with the Department of Conservation, and has since held a range of roles at Auckland Council, including in biosecurity, partnerships and community, and as a lead in conservation. Today she leads a team that grows and protects some of NZ, and the world's rarest plants, working with mana whenua and national and international botanic garden networks. Bec will describe the role of Botanic Gardens and touch on a few projects to recover plants in the wild.
