**What is the Bayview Restoration Project?**
**How to get involved in removing pest plants and predators**

The Bayview Restoration Project aims to protect our local kauri forests and make our communities healthier, better connected and more attractive to wildlife.
To allow our native wildlife to flourish, we need to remove destructive pest plants and predators from our environment. With support from Pest Free Kaipātiki Restoration Society, the aim of the Bayview Restoration Project is to create a pest-free ‘halo’ surrounding Lynn, Leigh, Witheford, Manuka, Glendhu, Nikau, Arcadia, Spinella & Bonito Reserves. Following Te Ao Māori principle of kaitiakitanga, a ‘halo’ is essentially a collection of neighbours around the reserves that can act as ‘guardian households’ to collectively intercept any incoming pest plants and animals.
Achieving a pest-free neighbourhood requires collective effort. Small efforts by many people equals big results.
