Pest Free Kaipātiki is seeking a new Board member

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about protecting Kaipātiki’s natural environment and would like to contribute their skills, experience and perspective to our Board.

Location: Auckland, North Shore (Kaipātiki)

Role: Voluntary

Time commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month on average Pest Free Kaipātiki (PFK) is a community-led restoration organisation working with volunteers, communities and partners to protect and restore the natural environment across Kaipātiki.

We are looking for a new Board member to join our collaborative governance team and help guide PFK’s strategy and long-term impact.

For this appointment, we are particularly looking to strengthen the Board’s environmental expertise. We would especially like to hear from people with professional experience in ecology, conservation, restoration, environmental management or a related field.

We’re looking for someone who:

• connects strongly with PFK’s environmental and community purpose

• can contribute strategic thinking, sound judgement and constructive challenge

• works collaboratively and is comfortable contributing at a governance level

• brings relevant environmental sector knowledge or experience.

While environmental expertise is a current priority, we are also open to hearing from people who are strongly interested in contributing to PFK and bring other skills or experience that could add value to the Board.

Previous governance experience would be useful but is not essential. We welcome applicants who are interested in developing their governance experience and can bring relevant expertise and commitment.

The role requires an average commitment of around 10 hours per month, including Board meetings, preparation and occasional involvement between meetings.

This is an opportunity to contribute your skills to an established community organisation delivering practical ecological restoration in Kaipātiki.
